1.3 The Wild Boar and the Fox

(ಕಾಡು ಹಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನರಿ)

ಕಥೆಯ ಸಾರಾಂಶ: ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಕಾಡು ಹಂದಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಸೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅದೇ ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನರಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಡಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಚೇಷ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಖೋಡಿ ಸ್ವಭಾವವಿತ್ತು. ಹಲ್ಲು ಮಸೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹಂದಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಚೇಷ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದೆನಿಸಿತು. ಅತ್ತ ಇತ್ತ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಗಾಬರಿಯದಂತೆ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತ “ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಗುಪ್ತ ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ ನೀನೇಕೆ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊರೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವೆ?” ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವುದು ನಿಜ ಆದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ಬಂದಾಗ ನನಗೆ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಸೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಯ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳು ಆಗ ತಯಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕು. ತಯಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಇರದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಾಯುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಕಾಡು ಹಂದಿ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿತು.

ಈ ಕಥೆಯು ಪುರ್ವ ತಯಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೊನೆಯ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಬಾರದು.

ನಾನು ಹಿಂಗೋಲಿ ತಲುಪಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾವು ಸಗ್ರೋಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದಿದ್ದೇವೆ! ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳು! ಈ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ರಜೆಯು ನನ್ನ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಣರಂಜಿತ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿದೆ. ಸಂಜುಮಾಮಾ, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು, ಸಗ್ರೋಲಿಯನ್ನು ಮಿಸ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಸಗ್ರೋಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಮಂಜ್ರಾ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಜಾಡಿ ಆನಂದಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರ ದಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಜಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅವಧೂತ್ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಆಟ ಅಡಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಲಾಘಾಟ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನಡೆದೆವು. ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುವಾಗ ಎಮ್ಮೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಸವಾರಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನನಗೆ ಸಗ್ರೋಲಿಯ ರಾಜನಂತೆ ಅನಿಸಿತು.

ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಊಟ! ವಾವ್! ಇದು ಚಕಲಿ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾವಿನ್ ರಸ, ಪಾಪಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಂದಾ ಭಜಿ, ಮೀರಾಮಾಮಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಅಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಪರಿಣಿತಳು. ಅಜ್ಜಿಯ ಶ್ರೀಖಂಡವಡೆ ಅನುಪಮ. ಚಿಕ್ಕಪ್ಪ-ತಾತನ ವಾಚನಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿಶೋರ್, ಚಂಪಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಸಂಪುಟಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿ ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಆನಂದಿಸಿದೆ! ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷ ಸಗ್ರೋಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಲು ನಾನು ತುಂಬಾ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
